Đejmi Hadrović (SI): Silent Observer

Runtime: 10.03

It’s a video performance conducted as a monolog confession of a woman in her early thirties and obstacles she is dealing with. The content touches problematics such as gender, identity, migration, and ethnicity. Biographical thoughts are exposed to the audience only by an audio recording while the performer in the video is hardly visible. It gives a notion of a classical portray while the mind is the main source of the happening. The artist is addressing the audience with still topical global issues – while trying to escape from inner conflicts, asking herself if she – as an individual – has done enough for the society and if it is at all possible to do so, in the perspective of her personal confusion. The performance is not only personal; it shares common trends of the contemporary world, earnestly asking the public to identify with the performer and vice versa.
